Shirley: NBF Day 1 of VBS

We had a great first day of VBS today. We were out the door on time and ready to receive our students way before 9am. This was a good thing since the first student, a first-timer even, showed up at 8:45am! We had 23 kids attend, several of them brand new, so that was very exciting. It was also wonderful to see moms and children whom we have not seen in a long time, so good to renew friendships and be able to fellowship together. The Lord was merciful and provided all things at the right time through many people, so we were thankful that He had our back all the way.

I took lots of pictures, but will have to post later. We are all very tired and it is very hot and humid again. It is not as hot and humid as it was last year, but we have been spoiled by cooler weather this summer, something very unusual, so it is no fun having it so very hot again. It always just seems to slow me down when I do not want to slow down, arg.

Matt shared his testimony today, hurray! Garrett is up tomorrow, so please remember him (although I think he will do great, too)! Our first women's bible study is tomorrow, so please remember Joanne as she prepares tonight.

Al, just so you know, the cicadas are just as deafening this year, if not more so. We cannot believe how loud they were today. They are quite an amazing part of God's creation for sure.

Thank you and good night!

  1. The cicadas at TMK are not very loud. They seem to be a different type as their chirping is different. We also have mosquitoes here...Ouch!!
