Shirley-NBF Day 2 of VBS

Another terrific day, praise God! Again, we were all out the door in time and at the community center and set up before the first child arrived. One little girl keeps showing up before 9am! We had 19 students today, and they all showed up before 9:15, amazing. Just shows how excited they are about the program which is very, very encouraging.

They are getting good at singing "Only a God Like You" which is very exciting. I found a great clip of this song on YouTube sung by a Japanese church in Hamamatsu. Maybe we will play the clip at church on Sunday so we can teach the rest of the NBF group, too, in Japanese.

The story telling time went well. We had the help of several ladies from church and the shepherds had a good discussion time in each of the groups. I was impressed by how attentive each student was in his or her group. There seemed to be very good discussion, which was very exciting to see.

Joanne led the first women's bible study and there were lots of ladies who came, hurray! We pray that it would continue to go well tomorrow and Thursday, too.

Garrett gave his testimony and I think it went very well! Thanks for remembering him.

Today we rinsed out our tie-dyed shirts, had water-balloon games outside and fuze-beads inside. It was a very full but rewarding day and everyone left with a smile, looking forward to another day of VBS tomorrow.

I think the NBF team needs a good night of rest. People look tired and again, it is really hot and humid outside, so everything seems to go a bit slower than we would like. We pray the team would get to sleep early and be truly refreshed and revitalized tonight. Tomorrow is Costco pizza day, so we do hope to see lots of new children and their parents!

Thankful for another good day and thankful for your faithful prayer support of us.
